Floral Forms
Flowers dazzle me
With their colors;
But today I see their shapes:
Hanging bells, sky-pointing trumpets, sunbursts,
Sentinels standing tall, at attention,
Snowballs and frilly-lipped petunias,
Spikes piercing the air,
Shy flat ones and bold graceful lilies,
Proud roses with layers of velvet nesting petals.
No random bang in space
Could have produced this extravagant detailed loveliness.
