March 10, 2019

I have been on a lifelong pursuit of “time management.” This is because I am by nature disorganized. Gratefully, joyfully this pursuit has helped me to become “pleasantly organized.”  Not nitpicky and annoying, I hope, but happily making lists to help me live more effectively this gift of life God has given me. (Well, most days!)

Wish I could remember where I read this a few weeks ago:

Clear every item off of your do-list for today, and then on the blank page, only put what will positively, significantly affect your life one month from now. Complete this list before moving on to other items.

There is a deeper eternal question: What lasts forever?

  • God

  • The Bible

  • People

As far as we know, Jesus did not carry a do-list, certainly not an electronic organizer! However, He had a clear sense of priorities which guided his daily decisions. And no one in history has lived a more eternally effective life, in just three years of public ministry.

Moses prayed: “So teach us to number our days that we may cultivate and bring to You a heart of wisdom.”
