On our way to the cottage, we stopped to get gas. As we stepped out of our vehicle at the pumps, we could hear a baby nearby, crying loudly. Wondering at that sound at that place, I looked to see a young mom pumping gas into her tank, while her baby wailed from the back seat.
The back window was down, and with her other hand, the mom waved a rattle to soothe her child. Miraculously, it worked. I watched in awe at this maternal multitasking, so born out of desperation and necessity.
She deserved recognition. I said, “Great job, Mom. You rock!” She laughed and smiled, pleased by the kudos.
God bless all the mamas creatively nurturing, even at the gas pumps.
