A Pure Heart
I am a heart attack survivor, grateful to God for His healing and for the good medical care I received. (Fall 2013, 95% blockage in my left anterior descending artery, stent successfully inserted, no damage.) But there is a forever kind of heart, and I want that one to be healthy too!
Jesus said that those who have a spiritually pure heart will see God.*
Wow! That’s quite promise: to see God –with spiritual maturity- sensing God’s presence.**
And defining the pure in heart as those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character. **
This sounds unattainable! King David went right to the source of any impossibility: “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” ***
Mother Teresa said,“Prayer gives us a pure heart and a pure heart can do much.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe expressed it this way: “Great thoughts and a pure heart, that is what we should ask from God.”
C.S.Lewis said that “it is safe to tell the pure in heart that they shall see God, for only the pure in heart want to.”
