February 12, 2023: Perspective Blog

February 12, 2023

It is Valentine’s Day week. Remember the romantic scene from last week’s blog? And Paul’s words to test us about true love?  (And all of this applies to any human interaction.) He continues...

Love does not rejoice at what is wrong, but what is true.

Love never stops believing the best for others.*

Love remains steadfast during difficult times.**

Love looks for the best in each one.**

Love endures all things without weakening.**

Love never ends, as do prophecy, tongues, and knowledge.

He concludes: “And now there remain:

Faith – abiding trust in God and His promises.

Hope – confident expectation of eternal salvation.

Love - unselfish love for others, growing out of God’s love for me.”**

“Yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.” *

   A good prayer:

 Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank-You for demonstrating true love for Your friends and Your enemies. Fill me with Your love for those I encounter.

And if I do not show love, help me to hear from You, in my heart, the noisy gong as a reminder. Nothing else is more important than loving the people You bring into my life. Amen.
