When I was a university student, I lived off campus on the edge of a golf course. Often I would walk the course at night, stopping to pray and marvel at the beauty of the night sky.
During that time, I had a summer job maintaining a small office in a plaza. Not much business, but lots of time to pray!
In both of these scenarios, I sensed the very real presence of God. Prayer was quite new to me and God was good to make His presence felt.
This has not always been true since then. That does not change the reality of His closeness when we talk, only my feeling of it.
I love this quotation:
“Prayer digs a channel from the reservoir of God’s boundless resources to the tiny pools of our lives.”
And not sure who said this one...
“There are two ways to vacuum a house – with the power turned off or with the power turned on. The time spent and the motions made are identical, but the results are totally different.”
