November 7, 2021: Perspective Blog
Perspective Blog for November 7, 2021
Last week I sent my poem on grief, on the heels of the previous blogs about laughter. Both are present for many of us.
These days I am still finding humor whenever I can, but am also carrying a deep sadness.
I grieve for:
Relationship tensions
Government decisions seemingly driven by power, not what is best for people
Companies and individuals making excess money from the current pandemic
Businesses and people losing money from the same pandemic
Families and friends divided and separated by the rules about Covid
The decline of truth in journalism
Unhealthy fear of a virus, but little healthy fear (reverence) of God
King David said:
“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book.
Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Psalms 56:8; 30:5 (NLT)
Imagine that: the God of the universe, Who loves each one of us, gathers our tears into a bottle, takes note of them. Such deep, tender, lavish love!
