My favorite gift for a baby is always, always a book. Parents usually have lots of baby clothes and blankets, but often I am the first one to start their library of children’s books. So here are some of my choices:
Something From Nothing by Phoebe Gilman (a charming Jewish folktale about a little boy and his grandfather. Delightful artwork too!)
The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones (Have read this one cover to cover myself. A well told story that drew my heart closer to Jesus. Exceptional art by Jago.)
And recently, I am including for new parents, a necessary book on keeping their children safe. Protecting the Gift: Keeping Children and Teenagers Safe, and Parents Sane by Gavin de Becker (a world expert on this topic, with years of experience advising parents on this most important of tasks)
